Composite Tanks are a common type of tank in the market, constructed from integrated panels. These composite panels have helped these tanks resist wind and earthquakes and provide a long lifespan. The composite tank, which is primarily made of fiberglass, comes in cylindrical and cubic shapes. Fiberglass tanks, often mistakenly referred to as composite tanks, are a type of composite material. Composites combine metals, polymers, and ceramics, retaining the chemical properties of their components due to their physical integration.

Specifications of Integrated Composite Tanks

Composites have a matrix phase and a filler phase. In fiberglass, the filler is glass fibers. Factors that have contributed to the popularity of composite tanks over metal and concrete tanks include their corrosion resistance. These tanks are resistant to corrosion caused by moisture and are also resistant to corrosive chemicals like acids. However, integrated tanks are primarily used for storing drinking water.

The second feature of composites is their mechanical strength relative to their weight. Thus, composite tanks have a long lifespan. Another positive aspect is their thermal insulation, which helps keep liquids such as drinking water cool. Additionally, due to the layering and arrangement, they offer good resistance to hydrostatic pressures. Thus, all integrated composite tanks, regardless of their shape, possess these benefits. However, there are additional advantages that make the integrated type more appealing.

ABtank designs and assembles these tanks according to the environment. Although assembling parts is not as easy as with modular types, there are no size or execution limitations. The cylindrical composite tank is two-part, while the cubic type is made from pre-fabricated flat sheets connected by GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) joints to form the integrated tank.
