Water is the primary factor of life, with over half of it used for agricultural purposes. Therefore, optimal use and proper storage of water in a water tank is important for irrigation and agriculture. To prevent water wastage, unwanted infiltration into the soil, or evaporation, the use of agricultural water tanks and garden water tanks is essential.

They come in various types and forms. Tanks can be concrete, metal, plastic, or use geomembranes for agricultural purposes. The geomembrane mechanism features a polymeric sealing layer that is highly resistant, requires minimal maintenance, and has a long lifespan.

Because geomembranes are sheets with insulation, they are very durable and do not require special infrastructure. These sheets are welded together using heat. They are made from polymer materials such as polyethylene and polyvinyl chloride. To ensure they are resistant to ultraviolet rays, carbon black is used, which makes the sheets black.

Agricultural Water Tank features an inlet, outlet, and overflow pipe. The type and grade of polyethylene tank can give different properties to the geomembrane sheet, and depending on the conditions in the region, a specific grade should be used. For example, high-density polyethylene is used for constructing dams and agricultural water tanks due to its high density.

However, low-density polyethylene is used for lighter industries due to its lower density. Given that polyvinyl chloride geomembranes are more flexible than low-density polyethylene, they are used in mining. The use of geomembranes for agricultural water storage offers advantages such as long service life, resistance to weather conditions, good insulation and sealing, quick and easy installation, prevention of sunlight infiltration, and easy transport in difficult terrains.
